Respected Amritanandamayi Amma,

My husband experienced chest pain and was taken to a nearby doctor. The doctor asked us to perform all tests related to the heart. Then we decided to come over to Amrita Hospital. My brother also had the same problem and was treated here. So we came here and met the cardiologist. He asked us to perform some tests. After that he told us that my husband needed an angiogram and so it was done. He was diagnosed with block in the heart valve. The doctor said that he had to do angioplasty and it would cost Rs. 1 lakh. Since we could not afford such a huge amount we contacted patient services. Someone from the ashram came to our house for enquiry. My husband is a painter by profession. I have two children, a son and a daughter. My daughter is married and she has two children. My son is still studying. I do not have any other job. I told about my condition to those who came for enquiry. They understood our problems and we were given treatment help of Rs. 76,449. We paid Rs. 40,000 and got admitted and the angioplasty was successfully performed. All the doctors and other staff in this hospital were very loving and explained everything in detail to us. So I thank everyone in this hospital for all the help. No matter how much I thank Amma, it will never be enough. We were given treatment help of Rs. 76,449. We thank Amma for this great help. We will all go and meet Amma personally and get Her darshan. A million thanks to Amma. I give consent to publish my husband’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication. It is because of Amma’s charity activities that many people are getting a lot of help. Without such great help from Amma people like us would have suffered a lot. I hope to get Amma’s help even in the future.

Pranams to Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Amma,

My name is Smija and I am writing this letter on behalf of my mother Meenakshy. Couple of months back she had a heart attack. We took her to a nearby hospital and was treated there. After couple of days she experienced breathing problems and underwent treatment from a cardiologist. Since there was no relief of her symptoms after medication, the doctor asked her to get an angiogram done. Our financial condition is really bad. We live on daily wages. My parents are staying together. Since my mother is ill, I am staying with them now. All we have is cents of land and a small house. We put that on debt to pay off the bills for the treatment. With Amma’s grace, we were given treatment help for all the tests. The doctors told us that we would need a huge amount of Rs. 1 lakh for her treatment. First we paid Rs, 40,000. After that we were told to pay a huge amount of Rs. 45,331. So I contacted patient services and got help from them. We will always be indebted to Amma for that help. My family consists of myself, my father, mother, husband and our 2 year old son. My husband is working as a room boy in a hotel in Guruvayoor. I work as a salesgirl in a supermarket. An amount of Rs. 2500 is needed for my mother’s medications monthly. That is why I go for this job. I earn Rs. 1000 and my husband earns Rs.1800 rupees. We are also in debt as a lot of money was needed during our marriage. All the doctors, nurses and other staff in this hospital were very loving towards us. We got a lot of help from here. Amma provided us Rs. 62,900 as treatment help. We will always be indebted to Amma for this great help. All the staff at patient services were very loving towards us. Dear Amma,

My name is Saji.P.T. and I hail from a place called Puthuppally in Kottayam district. I am a driver by profession. My brothers are coolie workers. All I have for myself is a small house in 3 cents of land. I underwent financial crisis a while back for my father’s treatment. One of my brothers is diabetic. I still haven’t paid for the loan that I took for my father’s kidney problem. In the midst of all these problems, my mother suffered from a bump in her head, which was diagnosed as tumor and the doctor referred her to AIMS. We reached here and gave an application at patient services. Someone from there came to our house for enquiry and promised to help us. With Amma’s blessings and with the love and affection of all the staff in this hospital, my mother was fully recovered from her illness. Myself and my family offer a million thanks to Mata Amritanandamayi Devi for providing a huge amount of Rs. 24630 as treatment help. Om Amriteswaryai Namah

My name is Thomas Varkey and I hail from a place called Irattayar in Idukki district. My family consists of myself, my father, mother, two sisters, my wife and our two children. Both my sisters are not married. My parents are old aged. I was allotted a house from the church and I was also provided with brick and metal sheet. I bought the rest of the materials after taking loan from the bank. Before completing the work, I had to take my child to the hospital. My wife is a Hindu. Ours was a registered marriage and so we have no support from her house.

Two weeks following my child’s birth she suffered from fever and was taken to a local hospital. The doctors there said that she had heart problem and needed immediate surgery. There we had to spend a huge amount of Rs. 3550. From there we were referred to a hospital in Kottayam. There also we had to spend Rs. 3800. From there we were referred to a hospital in Trivandrum. There a balloon surgery worth Rs. 17000 was performed. Since we couldn’t afford such a huge amount of money the surgery was performed free of charge. She was discharged five days after that and was referred to Amrita Hospital for advanced surgery. So we came here and consulted the doctor and x-ray and echo tests were performed. The doctors said that she had to undergo immediate surgery worth Rs. 1,55,050. Being a coolie worker, I could not afford such a huge amount of money and I told this to the doctor. He asked me to contact patient services. So I went to patient services department and told them about my financial difficulties. Following that a swamiji came to my house for enquiry and informed patient services about my poor living condition. After that my child’s surgery was successfully performed. Now my child is doing fine. We feel that we received God’s blessings through Amma. I pray that Amma receives more and more of God’s blessings in the future. It is with the help of our neighbours and folks that we were able to afford treatment. We believe that it is all Amma’s blessings. I thank all the doctors, nurses and other staff in this hospital and also Amma who provided treatment help of Rs. 155050. I give consent to publish my child’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

Pranams to Amma.

Om Amriteswaryai Namah

We offer our gratitude to Amma.

My husband was brought to this hospital following a heart problem. We are five members in our family. For the past four years I have been unable to go for any work following severe back problem. Both my children are dumb by birth. My eldest son is going to undergo training to work as a waiter. We hail from Cherthala. All we have is five cents of land along with a small house. The entire family used to depend on my husband’s wages for their livelihood. He used to sell fish at houses and used to take care of our expenses with the small amount of money that he got. Suddenly one night he experienced severe chest pain. Though we took him to a nearby hospital, he was shifted to another hospital in Cochin. He was in the ICU for two days and then was in the ward for one and a half weeks. The doctors told that he had to undergo some scan, but we could not afford it. So we got in touch with Amrita Kutumbam and came to know about patient services through them. My husband underwent a scan worth Rs. 10667, but all we had to pay was Rs. 1000. We offer a million thanks to Amma who provides such a huge help to our family. We hope and pray that Amma’s blessings will be with us throughout our lives. We will forever be indebted to all the staff in this hospital. I cannot stop my tears while writing this. I give consent to publish my husband’s photograph along with letter in Amma’s publication.

Department : Paediatric Cardiology
Date of Admission / Discharge : 05/11/2008—12/11/2008

Om Namah Shivaya

Dearest Amma,

I am Kanaka’s husband Mohanan and we hail from a place called Puthuppanam, Vadakara taluk in Kozhikode district. I am a member of a poverty stricken family. My family consists of myself, my wife Kanaka and our two children. Our eldest daughter Priyanka is 21 years old and is studying for M Com and our son Priyesh is 18 years old and is studying in 11th standard. All we have is 7 cents of land and a small house. I am a coolie worker, but due to continued illness I am unable to go for work regularly. Four years back Kanaka suffered from severe cough and other problems. I took her to a doctor in Vadakara and he said that there was some problem with her heart. I was extremely sad to hear that. The doctor said that she had to perform an echo test to find out the problem. He referred Kanaka to a hospital in Kozhikode and an echo was performed and she was diagnosed with a hole in her heart and told us that she would need to undergo a surgery worth Rs. 1 lakh. An amount of Rs 1000 was spent there for the test. We were heartbroken and came back home in tears. After that we went to a hospital in Bangalore. There she underwent some test and was diagnosed with hole in her heart. They said that it needed to be closed. Since she was above 40 years of age, they put her on pending and told her to get treatment from any other hospital. After returning from there we went to a hospital in Kozhikode and the doctor there told that I had to undergo surgery worth Rs. 1 lakh. We were in deep grief. So the doctor asked us to send a letter to the prime minister’s relief fund asking for help. We didn’t get any reply and were in deep grief. That is when the doctor there told us about Amma’s hospital. So we came here and contacted patient services and they gave us all the instructions. We were asked to go to Amma’s ashram in Kozhikiode asking for treatment help. So we went there and met the Swamiji and told all our problems. We were able to get all the information regarding the ashram. After enquiry we were asked to come to this hospital. After coming here, we were given all the help from patient services. We can never thank Amma enough for providing us treatment help of Rs. 1,25,222. Myself and my family will always be indebted to Amma and the ashram for all the help. I cannot praise enough how excellent the behavior of all the staff and everyone at patient services is. The patient and the people coming along can never forget the treatment given in this hospital and also the wonderful environment. A million thanks to Amma for helping me in this surgery. We hope that we will be blessed to come and meet Amma. I give full consent to publish my wife’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

To my dearest Amma,

My name is Bernad George and I hail from Maliyeckal Veedu, Alangad village in North Paravoor taluk. My family consists of myself, my wife and sister. I used to do coolie work and that was the only source of income in the family. One year back I suffered from fever. I was taken to a local hospital and the doctors performed various tests and I was diagnosed with cancer. After that I went to a hospital in Cochin and CT scan and other tests were performed there. Since then I have been surviving on just medication. In the midst of all this, my sister became mentally ill and we were in deep financial crisis. So I had to sell my house and with that money we bought this small house and the rest of the money was used to clear my debts. For the past five months, my condition has been very bad and I was unable to do anything. Some of my friends took care of the family’s expenses and also bought the necessary medicines for me. Even then I had borrowed a huge amount of Rs. 35,000 from my friends. At that time I met a friend of mine who was Amma’s devotee and told me about Amma’s hospital and the charitable activities. Thus I came here and consulted the doctor. I underwent counseling and I gained immense self confidence. So I was interested in getting treatment from here and I gave an application to receive fifteen radiations. I was given a report and following that, someone came to my house for enquiry and agreed to provide me with treatment help. I was given Rs. 10,790 as treatment help. I received excellent service and cooperation from all the doctors, nurses and other staff in this hospital. In God’s name I thank Amma and this institution for all the help. Dear Amma,

I am Viji, wife of Shanmughan. We hail from Trichur district. Around three months back, one night my husband experienced weakness and started sweating all on sudden. Immediately he was taken to a nearby hospital and an ECG was performed and they asked us to transfer him to another hospital in the city. The doctors diagnosed that he had a heart attack. Immediately they gave him an injection and he was admitted there for two weeks. At that time a huge amount of Rs. 20,000 was spent for his treatment. My family consists of myself, my husband and our two children. My parents also live with us. The entire family depends on his mere wages for livelihood. Even his relatives are in a very bad financial situation. At this point we reached Amma’s hospital to correctly diagnose his situation and the doctor suggested angiogram. The angiogram showed three blocks and the doctors said that one of them needed angioplasty. We had already spent a large amount of money for his treatment in the past and could not afford any at this point. So we were asked to contact patient services. My husband has 20 cents of land. We got a letter from patient services which we took to the ashram in Trichur and immediately they understood our problems and told us that they would help us by paying some amount of money. We got the date for the angioplasty much earlier than we expected. We borrowed some money to give at the hospital. We thank Amma for Her kind heartedness and providing Rs.14,884 as treatment help. I hope and pray that many people get this kind of help from this institution. All the doctors and other staff in this hospital were very helpful. I give full consent to publish my husband’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

A million thanks to Amma.

Dearest Amma,

My name is Shahida and I hail from Kalpetta in Wayanad district. My husband Azeez got admitted in Amrita Hospital for treatment of blood cancer. The doctors had said that it would cost him a huge amount of Rs. 4.5 lakhs over a period of 2 ½ years. Myself and my family who does not have a steady income could not afford such a huge amount. My parents who are old aged and my daughter who is 3½ years old live together. I live with my husband in a rented house. We are highly indebted to Amma for providing Rs. 10,505 as treatment help. Initially he was admitted in a local hospital for treatment. The doctor there referred us to Amrita Hospital. We had spent a huge amount of Rs. 80,000 in the other hospital. He got admitted in this hospital on September 1, 2008. Since we could not afford the treatment we contacted patient services with their help and cooperation and with Amma’s grace, we were given Rs. 10,505 as treatment help. We are greatly indebted to Amma for this help. A million thanks to Amma. My husband used to work in a shop. He was unable to go for any work following his illness. He was the only source of income to the whole family. Since we don’t have a house of our own, we live in a rented house. For the past 1 ½ years my husband has been unable to go for any work and we have been in deep sorrow. With Amma’s grace and help from patient services we were given treatment help of Rs. 10,505. We give full consent to publish my husband’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

Aum Amriteswaryai Namah

Dear Vallikkavu Amma,

For days now, myself and my wife have been feeling mentally weak. Yesterday my son’s surgery was successfully performed. Now we are relived. He is our only son. We were in deep sorrow when he lost his eyesight, but Amma’s blessings never left us. No matter how much we thank Her, it will never be enough.

My son is studying in a school in Mangalore. One day while in class, the child sitting next to him poked his eye with his pencil. Though the teacher saw it, she did not inform us then. We took him to a doctor in Shimoga and was referred to a hospital in Manipal. Since we didn’t have enough money to take him there, we did not go there. When we fought with the school authorities we were given Rs. 7500 as compensation, but that money was not enough for his treatment. The school management trustees had agreed to provide all the help needed for his treatment, but when the time came nobody was willing to help us. Amma did not leave us alone at that time. All the staff in the hospital were very loving in nature and extremely efficient in carrying out their duties. I offer my heartfelt gratitude to Amma, the doctors who treated my son and other staff in this hospital for all the help. I am highly indebted to Amma for providing Rs. 18,566 as treatment help for my son’s eye surgery. All I have is tears to offer at Amma’s holy feet. I give consent to publish my son’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

Dear Amma,

My name is Mini Padmanabhan and I hail from Kunnathunaadu taluk in Ernakulam district. My family consists of myself, my father, mother, husband and our two daughters. Both my parents are ill. My husband works as a helper in a workshop. We have not been able to build a house of our own till now. I stay in my house. The financial condition in my husband’s house is very bad. He has one brother who is mentally challenged. So he has to take care of his brother too.

My second daughter Minnu was a heart patient by birth. She underwent two surgeries at Am rita Hospital. Initially we took her to a nearby hospital. The doctor there referred us to this hospital. Mini had her first surgery when she was just 1 ½ months old. We borrowed money from our relatives to meet the surgery expenses. The next surgery was performed when she turned 3 years old. Before that surgery we contacted patient services. A swamiji came to our house for enquiry and was convinced of our poor living condition. As a result we got treatment help from Amma. Her third surgery was done when she was 8 years old. We were told that it would cost a huge amount of money. So we contacted patient services again seeking help. They understood our financial problems and we were given treatment help of Rs. 68058 from Amma’s charity. We will forever be thankful and indebted to Amma for all the help. We will never forget Amma in our lives. I always see Amma’s reflection when I look at my daughter’s face. All the doctors and nurses who treated my daughter were very hospitable toward us, which bought a lot of joy in our hearts. I give full consent to publish my daughter’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication. Once again a million pranams to Amma.

Pranams to AMMA,

I hail from a place called Kainadi in Kottayam district. My family consists of myself, my wife and one child. I do not have any job and also a house of my own. Now we are staying in a rented house. I used to be a tailor before. I had to stop that profession when I fell sick. After that I started selling lottery tickets in the streets. Both my parents are old aged and unable to do any job. My father is mentally ill. My wife is also unemployed. She has passed SSLC and has also studies computers. I never completed my school education. My son is very bright in studies and is studying for LKG in Amrita Vidyalayam in Changanacherry. My close relatives are financially very poor and so are unable to help me in anyway. Two years back I suffered from a tumor in my backbone and underwent treatment in a hospital in Kottayam. I did not get any relief from the treatment and so came to Amrita Hospital. I underwent very good treatment by the doctors here and got relief from my illness. I could not continue my treatment due to financial constraints and so I fell ill again. As soon as we heard that I needed a surgery we contacted patient services and gave an application. Following that someone from there came over to my house for enquiry and my treatment was done free of charge. Amma provided Rs. 50,125/- as treatment help for me. I will never forget the divinely touch of love and care that I received during my stay in the hospital. With praises to Amma, I am sharing my unique experience of getting free treatment and medication.I pray that everyone in this hospital have God’s blessings always. I offer my gratitude for all the compassion and love and also the free treatment help I was treated by the same doctors again. With the help of Amma’s noble charitable trust and help from patient services, I was provided all the expenses needed for the surgery and treatment thereafter. Myself and my family offer our pranams to Amma for providing me with treatment help and for saving my life. My family thankfully remembers Amma. I pray that I will not suffer from the tumor in the future. I humbly request that if I need to undergo radiation in the future I will be provided with treatment help.

To my loving Amma,

I come from a very poor financial background. I used to work as a taxi jeep driver. With the arrival of new vehicles in town, the demand for this one went down. That’s how my daily wages stopped all on a sudden. I get chest pain very often and I am on medication. So I am unable to go for any job. My family consists of myself, my wife and two children. My children are studying in 5th and 1st standard respectively. Last year I was diagnosed with some problem in my throat. I underwent surgery for that at a local hospital, but it was a failure. Now the problem has started again. After checkup, I was diagnosed with throat cancer. We spoke to the doctor and as per his advice, we came to AIMS. We contacted patient services and we were given Rs. 40,125 as treatment help. We offer a million pranams to our dear Amma for all the help.

At first, I experienced pain in my throat and difficulty while talking. I went to a nearby hospital for checkup and the doctors said that there was some swelling at the point of the throat where the sound comes from. The doctor also said that I had to undergo a biopsy. So a biopsy was done and the doctors confirmed that I had cancer. I had to undergo a surgery worth Rs. 50,000 and also an instrument would be inserted to help with my speech. Since we were financially very poor we told the doctor that we could not afford any treatment. Then the doctor told us that in Amma’s hospital free treatment was provided to the financially poor people and so we came here. We consulted the doctor and he said that I only needed to undergo radiation and not surgery. We were told that I would need to have 50 radiations worth Rs. 50,000. So we contacted patient services and got a letter to take to the ashram in Kozhikode. Someone from the ashram came to our house for enquiry. Amma provided 20 free radiation treatments. All the staff in this hospital treated us as their own family. Even in the most busiest hours, they were all willing to listen to our problems and clear all our doubts. Someone from Amrita TV interviewed us. I give consent to publish my photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication or telecast my video on Amrita TV.

To my loving Amma,

I am writing this letter on behalf of my wife Kamalamma and I hail from Klappana panchayat, Karunnagappally taluk in Kollam district. Amma provided treatment help of Rs. 17,192 for Kamalamma’s thyroid surgery at Amrita hospital. We offer a million thanks for this great help. My family consists of myself, my wife, mother and my brother. Myself and my brother are coolie workers. I have eight cents of land in my mother’s name. I had to pledge the document of that land in the bank to perform both my sister’s marriages. I also had to give a part of my mere wages to my mother to pay off her loans. Two years back my wife suffered from a bump in her abdomen and a surgery was performed. I had to spend a lot of money for that. So I could not afford another surgery at this time. So I came to the ashram and told about my sad situation. Thus we came to Amrita Hospital in Cochin. After enquiry and with Amma’s grace, they agreed to treat my wife. I give full consent to publish my wife’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication. We got excellent treatment from all the doctors, nurses and other staff in this hospital and they were very patient and cooperative.

Dear Amma,

My name is Abdul Khader. I got admitted in this hospital ten days back. I underwent treatment for my kidney at another hospital for couple of days, but the doctors were unable to diagnose the actual problem. After coming here, the doctors diagnosed the problem correctly and suggested a surgery. The surgery expenses were too much for me to handle since I come from a very poor financial background. With Amma’s grace, a huge percent of money was given to me as treatment help. So my surgery was successfully performed. I will never forget this great help given to me by Amma. In the same way, the excellent treatment of all the staff in this hospital was extremely good. I learnt an important lesson from here that love and compassion was much more effective to any patient than any medication. Once again I thank Amma and all the staff in this hospital for all the help.

I have three children, three daughters and a son. Two of them are married off. My third daughter works in a shop. My son is not going for any job and he stopped his studies too. Myself and my family offer our gratitude to Amma for all the help given to me. My daughter who is employed takes care of the expenses of the entire house. At first we contacted patient services and someone came to our house for enquiry. After that we were provided with treatment help. I thank Amma for providing Rs. 33273 as treatment help.

Dearest Amma who has all the virtues but is humble, compassionate and comforting.

My family consists of myself, my wife Sheeja and my mother and we hail from a place called Cherayi, Pallippuram panchayat in Ernakulam district. For the past two years or more, my mother K.N.Baby who is 64 years old, has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer, diabetes and heart problems. Since January 2008, she underwent treatment in couple of hospitals for about 4 ½ months and while on treatment she passed away on June 19th. All this time for saving our mother’s life we had already pledged all the gold we had and taken some personal loans and now we have a huge amount of Rs. 2,50,000 as debt. We went to a lot of hospitals for my mother’s treatment and as a result, I lost my job because I had to stay off work many times. I have been hunting for a new job for the past 4-5 months now. In July my wife Sheeja found a lump in her right breast and after biopsy she was diagnosed with cancer. The oncologists at AIMS immediately performed other tests and they told that she had to undergo surgery immediately. They told that the surgery would cost a huge amount of Rs. 25,000. We could not afford such a huge amount of money. We then remembered about Amma’s charity activities and so went to Amritapuri and met Amma and told her about our problem. Amma consoled us and told us that She would take care of all our medical expenses. We were given a letter and we took it to the patient services department and as a result the surgery was successfully performed. We offer our gratitude to Amma for understanding our financial problem and providing Rs. 21,756 for my wife’s surgery. We will forever pray for Amma’s welfare and we offer our pranams at Amma’s holy feet. We thank all the doctors, nurses, other staff at the oncology department and everyone from patient services for all the help. I give consent to publish my wife’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

My name is Gopi Keshavan and am residing at Ezhakaranadu. My family includes wife and myself. We have no children. I am doing welding work. For about 1 year my wife has got severe pain at her right leg. We consulted a doctor at local hospital and took some medicines. But she did not get any relief. Then we tried ayurveda followed by physiotherapy but no improvements were noted thus I took her to ammas hospital. Here everybody behaved in a very kind manner. Amma helped me with Rs30708 and thanks for that Amma.

When we consulted the doctor at AIMS, he informed us that, the bones of her leg is degrading and surgery is needed. Since all the cash was spent for prior treatments there was no other way for me to arrange such a huge amount.

Hence we approached patient service unit and they agreed to help us. After their enquiry they understood our condition and amma gave Rs 30,708 for her treatment.

I offer crores and crores of pranams to my Guru and God-AMMA.

I am from Shuranaad at Kollam district. We got admitted here for tonsillectomy of my daughter. Due to severe debt and lack of permanent job for my husband, we have severe economic problems. Hence we consulted a doctor at Vallikavu and reached here with Kasturi Ammas letter. We are very much obliged to Amma, as a surgery worth Rs.12,479 was done absolutely free for us in AIMS. Since we do not have our own house, we are staying along with relatives at a common house. We have two daughters. My father and mother are also staying with us. All the staff of this hospital are very kind and co-operative. Even though the treatment was free for us, there were no discrimination from their part. It was through Amma we got this help and we are always obliged to Amma for this. From childhood onwards my child was not physically well. We consulted a doctor at Kayankulam and he told us that, a surgery was to be done. It was to seek for any other alternative, other than surgery we reached Ammas hospital. But here too, doctors instructed for an immediate surgery. However here we received all sought of help. After operation my child is all right now.

My name is Jagadhamma. My husband is a retired government since last 22 years. We have 5 children. All got married and are settled at different places. We brought a plot for loan and built house at the same. Now the loan is almost repaid.Since last 10 years, I have been suffering from diabetes, and taking medication for the same. Also, one-year back my uterus was removed. I was also suffering from blurred vision. On enquiry we came to know that it would be cured only by a surgery and that required a huge amount. It was then on 31/05/08, a free medical camp was conducted at our hometown. I went for it and was referred to Ammas hospital. On 16/6/08 operation was done for my left eye. Soon, a surgery was proposed for my right eye too. We were totally taken back as we did not have money to undergo the same. I am obliged to Amma in all ways. I am also a devotee of Amma. I kindly request Amma to bless me. I am very thankful to Amma for her financial and psychological support at the most needy time.

I am working as PRA at central lab reception department, AIMS. My sister is working as a teacher at a C.B.S.E school and one of my brothers is an artist. Of the remaining 2 brothers, one brother is no longer in contact with home now. The youngest brother is a computer student. He is also going for part time job. Financially we are in a very pathetic condition. One day my youngest brother got admitted at a local hospital due to severe abdominal pain. Those doctors advised us to shift the patients to some hospital where efficient Gastrologist are available. Thus we reached Ammas hospital. On 13/6/08 we admitted to casualty and later we were shifted to MICU and finally to ward. Now my brother is perfectly all right. All the doctors and nurses were very kind to us. There were no ill- behaviors from their part.

Owing to my very poor financial set up, we got huge reduction from here. This is indeed a matter of relief and peace for me. Its only because of Ammas blessing, I got this help. I pay thousands of salutation to Ammas lotus feet for this help and blessing.

Regards
Rajalakshmi

To beloved Amma

My name is Nadine. I hail from Mayanoor. My husband name is Manikandan. I have two children-Namitha and Amrithesh. My husband is a coolie. My father and mother are also staying along with us. Both of them are coolie workers. Our family is financially very poor. It was on the 3rd day of the delivery, we came to know that my son has got heart problems. We took our son to many hospitals for the treatment but all those doctors conformed that his disease cannot be cured. It was through Chellakara medical camp we reached Ammas hospital. After some tests, doctor informed us that a surgery was urgent. However due to adverse financial conditions, the surgery was delayed. Later we approached the patient service unit of AIMS and told them all our difficulties. They offered the help and the child was shifted to OT at morning 9 clock. The same day itself the surgery got over. Now the child is better and today we are discharging. Amma helped us by giving Rs 75264. It was our beloved Amma who helped us when there was no one else to support us. Thus I will be always obliged to Amma.

We all have a good opinion about the hospital and its staff. We pray for Ammas blessings in all our deeds.

First of all, my heartfelt thanks to Amma for all her help. we are residing at a place name ‘manarkad ‘ at Pallakad district. I am a coolie. My family includes wife, parents and children. Also am a asthma patient. Since am the only earning member at my home all the expenses are met with my earnings. My mother was having tumor at nose. Initially we took her to a local hospital scanning, E.C.G, and blood tests and other treatments were done. About 9000 was spent in that hospital. Later we reached Ammas hospital. A biopsy was done and its report suggested for a surgery. In this prospect, the expense of surgery was not affordable for us. So we approached patient service unit at AIMS. As a result, the enquiry team came to our house at Varapuzha. We have 4 cent plot. We have taken a loan of one and a half lakh from bank for building house. We haven’t repaid the money that we have borrowed from bank.

Now Operation worth 27,990 got over. I am thankful to Amma for providing such a huge amount. My Dearest AMMA,

My name is salila, I am from a place named”chembu” at vaikom district. My mother Rajamma had been suffering from severe abdominal problems for the last few years. Initially, we thought it was due to some gas problem and took some medicines for the same. But last January, my mother’s condition became worse. We took her to a nearby govt.hospital. After a detailed check up the doctor told that she was having stones at gall bladder for the last 15 years. We shifted mother from govt.hospital to another hospital. But, the doctor advised us to take her to some private hospital, as it was a high-risk surgery and they did not have the facilities too.

We are 3 daughters for our parents. We have only 2 cent plot as our asset. We 3 got married and in that aspect our family is in heavy debt. My father is a coolie worker and due to ill health now he is not in a condition to do any work. It was at this situation, we reached at ammas hospital at Ellemakarae. Very earlier we had came to know that, this hospital provides free services for several helpless and needy patients. Thus we reached here and amma gave us free treatment worth Rs 37,991. If this surgery was not done for my mother, she wouldn’t have been alive now as the condition of my mother was that serious. I don’t know how to express my gratitude to Amma. When my mother gets fully cured, we will surely come to ammas ashram to salute at her lotus feet. I extend thousands and thousands of pranams to Amma.

To our beloved Amma

My name is Sheeba Aji. I am residing at Ezhuppunna, Cherthalla Taluk. My family includes husband and 2 children. My youngest son Akash frequently had cold and breathing difficulties. We consulted at a local hospital and after many tests they suggested a surgery. But surgery was unaffordable for us. Later we went for a medical camp at Cherthala district and the ENT surgeon suggested for a surgery worth 20,000. Thus we took him to AIMS and approached the patient services unit of AIMS. A staff from patient services unit gave us a referral letter to Ammas ashram. My husband is a coolie and he is the only earning member. Hence, there was no way for us to do the surgery. We received help from Ammas ashram. I am very thankful to Amma and all staff at patient services unit. I offer my thousand pranams to the lotus feet of Amma.

My Dearest AMMA,

I am K.Sindu from chulliyodukottayil, vayanadu district. I was referred to AIMS from the Kayatti amritakripa hospital and I was hospitalized in AIMS from 13/05/08 till 9/6/08, for which I was given all the help from here including my food and medicine. Also am very impressed with the courteous behavior of the doctors and staff of AIMS .

My family consists of father, mother, sister and myself. None of my family member has got a permanent job, which made them very difficult to carry out my treatment. Since I have a hole in the heart, doctors suggested me to replace it. But we were unable to meet the expense of the whole treatment. Detailing our pathetic condition we submitted a requisition to ashram and also to patient service. After their enquiry they understood all our difficulties.

Considering my difficulties my operation cost 1,43,894 was done freely for me. Its all due to the immense blessing of amma. In the language of love am offering my thousand thanks to amma.

My operation was done and now am perfectly all right. I once again extend my thousand thanks to amma for her kindness that saved my family.

Regards,
sindu

To our beloved vallikavillamma

We belong to a very poor family. My son has got valve damage and we consulted many doctors but unfortunately there were no improvements in him and finally we brought him to AIMS hospital. Since am a coolie worker, his treatment expenses were not affordable for me. Apart from him, I also have 4 daughters. Since am a daily wager, it was very difficult for me to meet both the ends of the family. So am delivering my heartfelt thanks to Amma from the core of my heart for all her help.

To Amma

I am Suresh Kumar, from perubaza, ellavoor panchayat, at kollam district. My father is a cancer patient and he was treated in a nearby hospital. In order to meet the expense over there we sold our house and other properties but we couldn’t save his life.

I was having pain on my left knee, and now the same knee got fractured in a fall. I was then taken to local hospital and underwent a surgery. They send a sample to Trivandrum hospital and there it was found that I have cancer. For all these we had borrowed money from a private finance firm. Nearly 80,000/ were spent for the treatment. I have mother, brother and sister. My brother is a collie and he is the earning member of our family. With his daily wage it was not possible for us to continue my treatment.

At that time we came to know about AIMS and ammas selfless services. On 7/5/08 we came to AIMS and consulted the doctor. He told us to undergo an immediate surgery. We approached the patient service unit and with their help my operation was done successfully.

The doctor and staff over here treated us very well, especially staff in patient service unit. We would never forget this great help and we sincerely pray a long life for amma. We expect more kind from her in future also.

Humble salutations to amma

Regards
Suresh Kumar

AUM AMRITHESHWARYAE NAMHA

To my beloved Amma

My name is Omana Chandran. First off all I offer crores and crores of pranams to amma. For the last several years, I had been suffering from severe abdominal pain. Only with the help of amma I got relief from this severe pain.My husband and myself are from a very poor family. Both us were coolie workers. We struggled hard and like wise we somehow managed to buy 4-cents of plot. We have 2 children (one son and one daughter). for my daughters wedding we had kept the documents of this plot for lease. It was at this time my husband developed some heart problems. Finally he treated at a govt. hospital but due to lack of their facilities and equipments they advised us to shift him to a private hospital. A huge amount of money was borrowed from others to continue his treatment at a private hospital. It was then the doctor informed us that, my husband would be cured only by a surgery worth one lakh. However I was helpless and there was no way for me to arrange such a huge amount. Eventually my husband expired. My son got married and the daughter-in-law is also from a poor family. My son’s youngest child (grandson) was admitted at ammas hospital at one-month age. The child was suffering from breathing difficulty and pneumonia and was treated here for a period of one month.

It was at this time, a medical camp was conducted in my hometown. I consulted the doctors of this camp for my abdominal pain and they advised me to remove the uterus. But by this time we were totally bankrupt. It was only with the blessings of Amma, I got relieved from my pain. A surgery worth 23,086 was done for me from AIMS absolutely free. This was made possible only with the help of Amma. Also, during the period of my hospitalization, all the doctors, nurses and other staff were very kind to me. Similarly I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the staff at the patient service unit. Once again I offer thousands of thanks to Amma.
