MRDNo :520157
Age/ Sex : 47 years/Male
Department : Neurosurgery
Date of Admission/Discharge : 31.10.2008—10.11.2008

Pranams to AMMA.,

My name is Dhanya and I am C.K.Kesavan’s daughter. One fine day my dad experienced headache along with vomiting. We took him to a local hospital and some tests were performed on him. He was admitted there for four days. A huge amount of Rs. 10,000 was spent there. My father did not have relief of his symptoms. So we brought him over to this hospital. He underwent a scan and was diagnosed with aneurysm. The doctors said that he had to undergo a surgery worth Rs. 85,000 for that. Initially when I was admitted in this hospital I had to stay here for seven days. At that time various scans and tests were performed and a huge amount of Rs. 40,000 was spent at that time. Later on they performed some tests on him and said that he had to get admitted for the surgery.

My family consists of myself, my younger sister, brother, father, mother and grandmother. Both my parents are coolie workers. Five months back my father underwent an eye surgery following a stone hitting his eyeball. A huge amount of Rs. 12,000 was spent for that surgery. Following that my younger sister also underwent a surgery and a lot of money was spent for that too. We borrowed money from other to meet all the expenses. That is when my father fell sick. We did not have any money in our hand for treatment. I have been married for the past two years now. I had to sell all my gold ornaments for my father’s initial treatment. We did not have enough money to pay for his surgery. So we contacted patient services and someone from there came to our house for enquiry. They were convinced of our poor financial condition and offered to help us. We got a report from patient services stating that we would be provided with treatment help from Amma’s fund. All the doctors and other staff in this hospital were very loving and caring.

We hail from a place called Pallissery, Karukutti panchayat in Ernakulam district. All we have is ten cents of land. It is only with Amma’s help that my father could undergo the surgery. My family offer pranams to Amma. I give consent to publish this letter along with my father’s photograph in Amma’s publication

Regards,
Dhanya

Date of Admission / Discharge : 30/10/2008—01/11/2008

Pranams to Amma,

My name is Surendran. I am writing this letter on behalf of my sister’s 13 year old daughter Prajina. We hail from a place called Alencheri in Kannoor district. There are six members in their family. They are her father, mother and their four children. Since they come from a very poor financial background, they could not afford Prajina’s surgery during her childhood. Prajina is their third daughter and is studying in 8th standard. She is a heart patient and is unable to run or jump or even walk long distances. One of the local doctors asked us to come here. After coming here, we spoke to patient services staff and got help. Since she had grown up, the doctors said that it wasn’t possible to perform any surgery. We are greatly thankful to all the doctors who explained to us in detail about her problem. Medical science could not do anything to save her and the only way for her to survive would be God’s grace. We hope that Amma’s prayers and blessings be with her always. All the staff in the hospital were very loving towards us. We received Rs. 10440 from Amma’s charity. Our whole family is thankful to Amma and everyone for all the help. The doctors have asked her to be on medication for the next three months and to consult them after that. We hope that Amma’s prayers with Prajina always. I give full consent to publish Prajina’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

Thankfully,

Age/Sex: 63 Years/ Male
Department : Oncology
Date of Admission/ Discharge : 22/10/2008—28/10/2008

To my dearest Amma,

My name is Bernad George and I hail from Maliyeckal Veedu, Alangad village in North Paravoor taluk. My family consists of myself, my wife and sister. I used to do coolie work and that was the only source of income in the family. One year back I suffered from fever. I was taken to a local hospital and the doctors performed various tests and I was diagnosed with cancer. After that I went to a hospital in Cochin and CT scan and other tests were performed there. Since then I have been surviving on just medication. In the midst of all this, my sister became mentally ill and we were in deep financial crisis. So I had to sell my house and with that money we bought this small house and the rest of the money was used to clear my debts. For the past five months, my condition has been very bad and I was unable to do anything. Some of my friends took care of the family’s expenses and also bought the necessary medicines for me. Even then I had borrowed a huge amount of Rs. 35,000 from my friends. At that time I met a friend of mine who was Amma’s devotee and told me about Amma’s hospital and the charitable activities. Thus I came here and consulted the doctor. I underwent counseling and I gained immense self confidence. So I was interested in getting treatment from here and I gave an application to receive fifteen radiations. I was given a report and following that, someone came to my house for enquiry and agreed to provide me with treatment help. I was given Rs. 10,790 as treatment help. I received excellent service and cooperation from all the doctors, nurses and other staff in this hospital. In God’s name I thank Amma and this institution for all the help. I pray to God that all the people who are financially poor receive help and compassion from this institution. I give full consent to publish my photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

Regards,
Bernad George

Dear Amma,

I am Viji, wife of Shanmughan. We hail from Trichur district. Around three months back, one night my husband experienced weakness and started sweating all on sudden. Immediately he was taken to a nearby hospital and an ECG was performed and they asked us to transfer him to another hospital in the city. The doctors diagnosed that he had a heart attack. Immediately they gave him an injection and he was admitted there for two weeks. At that time a huge amount of Rs. 20,000 was spent for his treatment. My family consists of myself, my husband and our two children. My parents also live with us. The entire family depends on his mere wages for livelihood. Even his relatives are in a very bad financial situation. At this point we reached Amma’s hospital to correctly diagnose his situation and the doctor suggested angiogram. The angiogram showed three blocks and the doctors said that one of them needed angioplasty. We had already spent a large amount of money for his treatment in the past and could not afford any at this point. So we were asked to contact patient services. My husband has 20 cents of land. We got a letter from patient services which we took to the ashram in Trichur and immediately they understood our problems and told us that they would help us by paying some amount of money. We got the date for the angioplasty much earlier than we expected. We borrowed some money to give at the hospital. We thank Amma for Her kind heartedness and providing Rs.14,884 as treatment help. I hope and pray that many people get this kind of help from this institution. All the doctors and other staff in this hospital were very helpful. I give full consent to publish my husband’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

Aum Amriteswaryai Namah

Dear Vallikkavu Amma,

For days now, myself and my wife have been feeling mentally weak. Yesterday my son’s surgery was successfully performed. Now we are relived. He is our only son. We were in deep sorrow when he lost his eyesight, but Amma’s blessings never left us. No matter how much we thank Her, it will never be enough.

My son is studying in a school in Mangalore. One day while in class, the child sitting next to him poked his eye with his pencil. Though the teacher saw it, she did not inform us then. We took him to a doctor in Shimoga and was referred to a hospital in Manipal. Since we didn’t have enough money to take him there, we did not go there. When we fought with the school authorities we were given Rs. 7500 as compensation, but that money was not enough for his treatment. The school management trustees had agreed to provide all the help needed for his treatment, but when the time came nobody was willing to help us. Amma did not leave us alone at that time. All the staff in the hospital were very loving in nature and extremely efficient in carrying out their duties. I offer my heartfelt gratitude to Amma, the doctors who treated my son and other staff in this hospital for all the help. I am highly indebted to Amma for providing Rs. 18,566 as treatment help for my son’s eye surgery. All I have is tears to offer at Amma’s holy feet. I give consent to publish my son’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

To my loving Amma,

I come from a very poor financial background. I used to work as a taxi jeep driver. With the arrival of new vehicles in town, the demand for this one went down. That’s how my daily wages stopped all on a sudden. I get chest pain very often and I am on medication. So I am unable to go for any job. My family consists of myself, my wife and two children. My children are studying in 5th and 1st standard respectively. Last year I was diagnosed with some problem in my throat. I underwent surgery for that at a local hospital, but it was a failure. Now the problem has started again. After checkup, I was diagnosed with throat cancer. We spoke to the doctor and as per his advice, we came to AIMS. We contacted patient services and we were given Rs. 40,125 as treatment help. We offer a million pranams to our dear Amma for all the help.

At first, I experienced pain in my throat and difficulty while talking. I went to a nearby hospital for checkup and the doctors said that there was some swelling at the point of the throat where the sound comes from. The doctor also said that I had to undergo a biopsy. So a biopsy was done and the doctors confirmed that I had cancer. I had to undergo a surgery worth Rs. 50,000 and also an instrument would be inserted to help with my speech. Since we were financially very poor we told the doctor that we could not afford any treatment. Then the doctor told us that in Amma’s hospital free treatment was provided to the financially poor people and so we came here. We consulted the doctor and he said that I only needed to undergo radiation and not surgery. We were told that I would need to have 50 radiations worth Rs. 50,000. So we contacted patient services and got a letter to take to the ashram in Kozhikode. Someone from the ashram came to our house for enquiry. Amma provided 20 free radiation treatments. All the staff in this hospital treated us as their own family. Even in the most busiest hours, they were all willing to listen to our problems and clear all our doubts. Someone from Amrita TV interviewed us. I give consent to publish my photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication or telecast my video on Amrita TV.

I am writing this letter on behalf of my wife Kamalamma and I hail from Klappana panchayat, Karunnagappally taluk in Kollam district. Dear Amma,

My name is Abdul Khader. I got admitted in this hospital ten days back. I underwent treatment for my kidney at another hospital for couple of days, but the doctors were unable to diagnose the actual problem. After coming here, the doctors diagnosed the problem correctly and suggested a surgery. The surgery expenses were too much for me to handle since I come from a very poor financial background. With Amma’s grace, a huge percent of money was given to me as treatment help. So my surgery was successfully performed. I will never forget this great help given to me by Amma. In the same way, the excellent treatment of all the staff in this hospital was extremely good. I learnt an important lesson from here that love and compassion was much more effective to any patient than any medication. Once again I thank Amma and all the staff in this hospital for all the help.

I have three children, three daughters and a son. Two of them are married off. My third daughter works in a shop. My son is not going for any job and he stopped his studies too. Myself and my family offer our gratitude to Amma for all the help given to me. My daughter who is employed takes care of the expenses of the entire house. At first we contacted patient services and someone came to our house for enquiry. After that we were provided with treatment help. I thank Amma for providing Rs. 33273 as treatment help.

I went to Amritapuri and got Amma’s blessings and after that my daughter was admitted. My daughter’s surgery was successful and now she is recovering well. We offer our pranams and a million thanks to our compassionate Amma for providing Rs. 92,426 as treatment help. All the doctors and other staff in this hospital were very loving and helpful. I thank each and everyone for all their help. Once again I offer my pranams to Amma. I give consent to publish my daughter’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

AUM AMRITHESHWARYAE NAMHA

To beloved Amma

I am from a place named Chemmalamattom at Kottayam district. First of all I extend thousands and thousands of thanks to our loving Amma. My name is Sudhamani K.S. Now am 39 years old. I have been ill since 13 years. All my asset was spent for my treatment. My family includes my mother, brother, sister and brother–in–law. I cannot do any work due to my illness. My father expired 15-years back. Brother is also sick. Mother is very old. My sister and her husband are coolie workers. They are the earning members of our family. I am under treatment at Ammas hospital for past few years and this is the first time am getting admitted here. But due to our poor financial state initially we thought of not getting admitted. It was then we came to know about the patient service unit in Ammas hospital. Thus we told all our difficulties and got admitted. With Ammas grace now I feel better. Yet doctors had suggested for a surgery at my elbow. In this surgery too, I expect Ammas help. Ammas services has to be given to all who are in need like us. These deeds are very consoling for people like us. I am extremely happy for Ammas help. I express thousands of thanks to Amma.

Regards
Sudhamani

Dearest Amma who has all the virtues but is humble, compassionate and comforting.

My family consists of myself, my wife Sheeja and my mother and we hail from a place called Cherayi, Pallippuram panchayat in Ernakulam district. For the past two years or more, my mother K.N.Baby who is 64 years old, has been undergoing treatment for breast cancer, diabetes and heart problems. Since January 2008, she underwent treatment in couple of hospitals for about 4 ½ months and while on treatment she passed away on June 19th. All this time for saving our mother’s life we had already pledged all the gold we had and taken some personal loans and now we have a huge amount of Rs. 2,50,000 as debt. We went to a lot of hospitals for my mother’s treatment and as a result, I lost my job because I had to stay off work many times. I have been hunting for a new job for the past 4-5 months now. In July my wife Sheeja found a lump in her right breast and after biopsy she was diagnosed with cancer. The oncologists at AIMS immediately performed other tests and they told that she had to undergo surgery immediately. They told that the surgery would cost a huge amount of Rs. 25,000. We could not afford such a huge amount of money. We then remembered about Amma’s charity activities and so went to Amritapuri and met Amma and told her about our problem. Amma consoled us and told us that She would take care of all our medical expenses. We were given a letter and we took it to the patient services department and as a result the surgery was successfully performed. We offer our gratitude to Amma for understanding our financial problem and providing Rs. 21,756 for my wife’s surgery. We will forever pray for Amma’s welfare and we offer our pranams at Amma’s holy feet. We thank all the doctors, nurses, other staff at the oncology department and everyone from patient services for all the help. I give consent to publish my wife’s photograph along with this letter in Amma’s publication.

Regards,
E.K.Sajeev.

My Dearest AMMA,

My name is Gopi and I am offering this letter to Amma. My wife’s name is Jaya and she is 34 years old. We have three children. Our eldest child Jibi is studying in 10th standard and second child Jincy in 6th standard. I am a coolie worker. I have not been able to go for work for the past two months because there is nobody to take care of Jaya. Jaya was seven months pregnant. Following vomiting she experienced some change in her speech. Then the doctor said that she had to undergo an MRI. So we went to a local hospital and MRI was taken and she was admitted there for three days. There was no improvement at all. So I decided to bring her to Amma’s hospital. Now it has been two months and two days since we came to this hospital. There is a lot of relief in her symptoms after coming here. We contacted patient services and someone from there came to enquiry to our house. All we have is ten cents of land and a house. I had to spend around Rs. 2 lakhs in this hospital. Amma provided Rs. 173100/- as treatment help for Jaya’s treatment. All the doctors and staff in this hospital were very helpful. Now I am going to take Jaya to a hospital in Kozhikode. The doctors here told me that she will be relieved with the current medications. Myself and my family are truly indebted to Amma. We can never forget Amma. Jaya is doing much better now. I will definitely go with Jaya and our children to meet Amma. We offer a million pranams to Amma

Regards,
Gopi
