I am from Parayeri house in Vellimadukunnu at Kozhikode. I have 2 daughters and a son. 8 years before my son passed away. It gave me great mental pain and all my dreams in life came to an end. During my retired life, I suffered many difficulties to get my daughters married.

I am a heart patient. I was under treatment in a nearby hospital and I was not able to continue the treatment due to my financial crisis. At that time I came to hear about Amma’s hospital and came here. I did Angiogram test from here and as per the result Doctor ordered for a surgery. I was working in KSRTC dipo. There was no means for me to arrange the huge amount for surgery in my retired life.

I am very thankfull to Amma for granting me Rs 1,07142/- for my heart surgery. I will be ever obliged to all Doctors, nurses and other staff for helping me in curing the disease. Amma, I will be ever grateful for providing me the surgery free of cost and saving my life.

My wife has been hospitalized in one of the local hospitals and undergoing treatment for the past 1 ½ months. She was diagnosed with brain tumor there and the doctors said that a surgery had to be performed. Due to my financial constraints, we came to Amma’s hospital. We saw the doctor and got admitted. The surgery was performed successfully.

As I work on daily wages I could not afford my wife’s treatment. My family and myself offer our gratitude and affection to Amma for all the help given for the treatment.

We live in a place called Pizhala. My family consists of my wife, 2 children and myself. Our eldest child is studying for Plus one and the younger one in class 10.

I work on daily wages and I suffer from piles. Because of that I am unable to go for work daily. We meet our daily expenses with a lot of difficulty. We offer our gratitude and love to Amma for providing free treatment to my wife worth Rs. 37,939/. The doctors and all the other staff in the hospital are very loving and caring.

AMRITA is committed to providing compassionate medical care to all, regardless of race, caste, religion, or economic condition. We offer charitable care to the fullest extent possible for those in need. As medical insurance is largely unavailable in India, the hospital dedicates a portion of its resources to serving patients who are too poor to pay for their treatment.

While the majority of AMRITA' patients pay for all of their services, in 2005 free in-patient treatment or major financial concessions were extended to 18,045 patients, covering the whole spectrum of activities. Of these patients, 5445 patients received totally free treatment. In addition, another 11,500 out-patients were recipients of charitable care. Among the in-patients, free surgeries were conducted in 299 out of the 1246 surgeries by Adult Cardiology, and Adult Cardiovascular Surgery, with major financial concessions extended to another 347 patients - representing over half of all of the adult cardiac surgeries for the year. Among children, nearly 58% of the 695 Paediatric Cardiology surgeries in 2005 were either totally free or offered with major financial concessions.

In addition, to make available free medical check-ups to poor patients at their door-step in remote villages, who are not able to access the facilities in AMRITA at Kochi due to distance, more than 100 free medical camps were conducted in 2005 in those inaccessible villages. After diagnosis in the free camps, patients are often brought to AMRITA to make them beneficiaries of free medical facilities.

My Humble Pranams to AMMA

I am from Kottayam district, Ethumanoor. I live with my mother,wife, and three children. I am working as a coolie. With the small amount I get as wages, weare earning our livelihood. My child Aleena is having an intestinal problem. We went manyhospitals and the doctors told she needed a surgery. Since I am undergoing a lot of financialdifficulties, I cannot afford the huge amount for my daughter’s surgery. Through friends Icame to know about Amrita hospital. When we came to AIMS, the doctors advised a surgeryand they told us to approach the patient service department for financial aid.

At this time I met the staff of patient service department and with their help we got aconcession and two surgeries were done. For the second surgery I got a concession of Rs.36,353/-. Only with the grace of Amma, all these things have happened. We will neverever forget the help that Amma gave us. We are also thankful to all the doctors and staffs forproviding good treatment to my child and for supporting us.
